The Mafia warm-up Party

For the first time in years, I immersed myself in some psychedelic music, transcended the everyday dishes and school runs, finding myself suspended by tunes. Tattooed and tattoo-free bodies swam the psychedelic puddle (something like primordial soup, but a lot faster at pushing out new critters) around me. Thanks to Iona and Derren for putting this together.

In terms of the music, I had better not say too much. I am simply not qualified other than to say I really enjoyed Ryan Davis ( aka Trip)'s set and I had a good stomp as Starspine (Jacques Coetzee) took us on an exquisite journey down memory lane.

The only tattoo artist that I knew at the party was Royston Chapman from Chapman's Tattoo Studio in Pretoria www.chapmans.co.za. While there were a few collectors with some lovely work, the photography Gremlins got at us. I remember that he listed Chainsaw, Moog, Graham and Cameron as his favourite artists. I’m not sure how to reach Graeme, Chainsaw and Cameron, but Moog can be found on FB under Moog Mushrooms and examples of his work are on show. If any one can update me regarding the other artists, please do.

Tat – toodle – do till next time.
